Detroit Art Clearance 2017 - Space Registration

The event will take place at Tangent Gallery/Hastings Ballroom on Sunday April 2nd from 12 noon until 6pm. Sales space is limited to only 36 spaces and available for only $25 each on a first-come RSVP basis with no commissions taken. Here are the rest of the details:

OLD ART, EXTRA ART SUPPLIES & USED ART EQUIPMENT ONLY - This event is only for the sale of our extra, old, overstock and damaged art, as well as extra supplies and used equipment we no longer need for making art. Found items you feel that artists and crafters may find of interest for their work is also acceptable. NO NEW ART, ITEMS OR PRODUCTS ALLOWED. Mature items are fine too, but please prepare to somehow make them not visible to those under 18 as this is an all ages event. However, we do recommend selling things at garage sale prices to keep in tune to the spirit of the event.

SPECIFICATIONS - The size offered is 7ft wide by 5ft deep, which is basically enough for one 6ft table and two chairs behind. Please note that this is only an empty taped-off space so be sure to bring EVERYTHING you need for your space. Actual space selection will be on a first-arrive first-pick basis. Some spaces will be back to back, while most will have a wall behind. If you have a preference, arrive early to select your space. If you do have a wall behind you, no drilling or nailing into them will be allowed.

TABLES/CHAIRS - We are not supplying tables or chairs so be prepared to bring your own.

ELECTRICITY - Only some wall spaces will have direct access to electricity. If you need electricity for extra lighting, displays, merchandise, etc, arrive early to select the proper space and bring your own extension cords. However, do not bring music, strobe lights or anything else that may disrupt your neighbors and the rest of the event.

LIGHTING - The venue is an old theater and gallery. Although we try to light the venue as evenly as possible, the majority will be standard theater "house lighting". If you need bright lighting, prepare to bring your own and arrive early to select a space near an outlet (not all spaces have outlets).

ASSISTANTS/GUESTS - Because of the limited space, only have 2 people total running your space.

SALES - You will be responsible for your own sales, card processing, change and merchandise.

SETUP AND TEARDOWN - Setup will begin the day of the event at 9am and the doors open later at 12pm noon. Please have your space ready to go by that time. The event ends at 6pm. Please do not close before that time, unless it is an emergency that you need to leave early. If you need to leave earlier, please let us know at the event and we'll instruct you on how to load out without disrupting the patrons.
